A Sad Anniversary - Part 2

Please forgive my lack of postings. Every time I'd sit down to write a post, I couldn't.  All I could think of was the post I write today.  It had to be written, as much as I didn't want to write it.   Sadly, I've been in mourning for the lost babies I learned about since I posted A Sad Anniversary Part 1.

Several women came to me and told me their abortion stories.  I've cried with them and for them, and for the loved ones touched by the abortions.  I'm glad they could share the truth with me.  I know G-d had prepared me, so I could tell them about repentance and forgiveness.  One of these women is a member of my own family.

It brought to mind the reaction to a talk on abortion I gave during my college speech class.  I returned to school as an adult in the 90's, and  naturally, most of my class were just out of high school.  My speech included photos of aborted babies, and  the impact of those graphic photos shocked and horrified the students.

After class, several of the students came to me and thanked me for the speech and for showing the photos.More than one said, "I thought it was just a clump of cells."  That is the lie told to young people as well as adults. 55 million people have been killed because of this lie.  The truth is that clump of cells is a human being.

I'm even sadder about another lie.  Each of the women believed there was no help in G-d.  They thought there was no one to help them, or they couldn't afford another child, etc., etc., etc.  At the time, their reason made sense because they did not know G-d as their Guide and Provider.

I'm sad because believers don't BELIEVE.  I'm sad because there are churches, and even "ministers" who tell women it is okay to kill the baby.  I'm sad because they do not BELIEVE the Word of G-d, but instead, teach the ways of the world.

The stories I've heard over the last few weeks have reinforced the need to speak the truth about abortion, and about having faith in G-d.

Every year, we read and study the Torah through from Genesis to Deuteronomy.  Each year, our faith is reinforced with the story of G-d's guidance, provision, and protection of the children of Israel.  He led them,  fed them, gave them water, and met every other need.  This, and other stories in the Torah, remind us of how faithful G-d is to us when we trust Him.

I have experienced this over and over again in my life.  G-d will make a way when there seems to be no way if we will trust Him, follow Him, and obey Him.  His Word is LIFE.

Sadly, the opposite is true.  When we turn away, disobey and follow our own way, we reap death.  Each of the women I spoke with experienced death.  Not only the death of the aborted baby, but death in their spirits.

The aftermath of an abortion is like a beautiful piece of furniture with a deep scratch across the surface.  Marred, but still beautiful and still useful.   There is hope.   Peace is possible.

Beloved, if you have had an abortion, you must agree with G-d that abortion is murder.
Ask His forgiveness for your sin.
Receive that forgiveness as an unmerited gift.  Yeshua died and rose again to pay for your sin.
Thank Him for it daily.
Make amends by speaking the truth about abortion.  Share your experience so that others will not go through what you did.

REMEMBER:  You are loved and forgiven.  You are beautiful, and G-d can use you to help other women.

This song by Don Moen has ministered to me so many times when I didn't know how I would make it. G-d has always made a way when there seemed to be no way.  I hope this song will bless you, too. (lyrics are below the video)

These are the lyrics:

G-d will make a way where there seems to be no way.
He works in ways we cannot see.  He will make a way for me.
He will be my guide, hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day, He will make a way.
By a roadway in the wilderness, He’ll lead me.
Rivers in the desert will I see.
Heaven and earth will fade, but His Word will still remain,
And He will do something new today.

  5. Thank-you for writing a beautiful and Biblical response to abortion. As Christians we need to find our voice to speak truth in love. A part of the deception is that our sexuality is separate from procreation. In Illinois a bill passed one house in our legislature to legalize same-sex marriage. The lie has become compounded.

    We can't be silent.

    1. Carol, I agree with you. We must speak out on that issue also. Sad to say, lies about that sin are also being promoted by "churches".
