Wisdom Wednesday - LISTEN - Religious Freedom

Continuing the theme of my word for the year - LISTEN.  I have been listening to the Father and to His Word, and this is heavy on my heart.

What is happening in Indiana and Arkansas related to religious freedom and the gay agenda is foreboding. Unless believers stand up and speak out for the Truth, this could close the doors of some synagogues that  hold fast to G-d's Word as the standard.  Why do I say this?  Because last week a friend from Canada told me that preachers in her country cannot say that homosexuality is a sin.

This particular issue is powerful because it is now, and in the future, going to affect every area of our lives. Business, education, renting our homes, who we can hire, what we can preach in the pulpit....and on and on. It is that  far-reaching.

Worse, is the fact that the other perversions are ready to roll forward just as the gays have. The transgendered are now pressing for their rights. Pedophiles are starting to make their voices heard, calling for the age of consent to be lowered. The slide down the slippery slope has begun, just as Francis Schaeffer predicted in his book How Shall We Then Live? The standard (G-d's Word, which has been the basis for our laws in the past) is being thrown to the wind, and where will it end? If we cannot speak the truth of G-d's Word, will the Bible eventually be banned because it does not agree with the homosexual agenda?

I recall vividly  the day I attended an information session about how to stop this gay agenda push for marriage. It was at a church in a major city, and the gay lobby held a big protest in front of the building, on a busy street. They were dressed like freaks, held vulgar signs, and cursed at the people going into the meeting. When the session started, they began to scream, curse, and beat on the door. I remember thinking this is what Sodom and Gomorrah must have been like.

The homosexual lobby demands tolerance and acceptance.  But where is the tolerance for our beliefs?  Imagine the drama/chaos if someone went into a Muslim restaurant and insisted they serve bacon; or a Jewish baker was asked to decorate a cake with the swastika or Hitler's face; or a black baker was asked to add a KKK outfit to a cake. A person with tolerance would not do such a thing. This is nothing but the gay lobby pressing their agenda. We have to stand up for our beliefs, too, while we can.

One point I think is important on this issue is this: people always say, "Well, I'm a sinner just like the gay person." That is wrong. The difference is that the gay person wants me to say "It's okay and you can do whatever you want in the church, business, etc." They don't confess their sin and try to resist it.  They embrace it and call it good.  But more than that, they insist that I call it good, too. I can't do that for any sin, even my own.

The synagogues/rabbis and churches/preachers are sinning if they accept the lifestyle and allow gay marriages.  When I say this, I hear this argument:  "But,Yeshua befriended sinners." Yeshua reached out to sinners and spoke the truth to them.  They repented and followed His ways.  He did not accept, condone or participate in their sin.  He was a Torah observant Jew and He is the Living Word.  No, He would not have any part in condoning an abomination of any kind. What would Yeshua say to a gay person?  He would say, "Go and sin no more," just as he said to the woman caught in adultery.

I believe these things point to the end of time and that Yeshua will come soon, but while we are here we are to contend for the faith, and share G-d's truth with those in darkness. I know homosexuals can be set free if they will turn to G-d and obey His Word.

These people are bound because they are blinded. The Truth opens blinded eyes and I know that the Truth can and will set them free, if they will receive it. I believe we all should preach / teach when given the opportunity. The world needs our light to shine into the darkness.  As believers, we have to confront sin, in love, and lead people to the truth. Some don't receive it, but it is our duty to warn people.  Sin leads to death.

We were born for such a time as this. Our government was set up for us to have a voice, but many are completely silent, while those who shout the loudest take away our liberty and religious freedom.

Will your grandchildren ask you, "What did you do when these things were happening?" I want to be able to say, "I prayed and I put feet to my prayers. I stood on G-d's Word and shared it with the hurting. I did all I could do as a citizen by taking part in the process of government (writing to the President, U.S. and state representatives)." More importantly, will G-d say, "Well done, good and faithful servant" when I stand before Him?
