Thankful Thursday - Pond Tour 2014 - #4

This week, we'll be touring Becky's garden again.  This is my third post about her beautiful yard, so be sure to check out the two previous posts to see more of this lovely yard.   Today we'll be looking at the potting area, and you're going to love it.

The photo above is her Victorian greenhouse filled with bits of whimsy.  This area of the garden is a different style from the rest, and I think it tells us a lot about Becky's heart.  As I walked through, I found further proof that we were kindred spirits.

Becky sells plants and her artwork through her business, My Garden Shop at Home.  This is her creative space, and I love everything about it.

The entrance to My Garden Shop at Home.  Becky has a knack for making everything pretty, and for using every inch of space.

Don't you love the stenciling on the fence?

I love those cute flower pots made of cans.

Her sentiments are mine exactly.

I love these painted rocks.

                                                    Birdhouses!!!  I love them, too.

More proof that Becky and I are kindred spirits.  I agree with every one of these sayings.

Heading out the door now and I'm sad to leave, aren't you?  I love Becky's garden, and I am so thankful I met her.

Next week, we'll continue on to the next garden on the pond tour.  I have so much more to show you, dear Gail-Friends, so come back next Thursday.

Thankful Thursday is my weekly discipline - to express my gratitude to Hashem for His over-flowing, abundant blessings.

Thankful Thursday - Pond Tour 2014 - #3

Today, I'll continue with the tour of Becky's garden.  You can see the first part of her yard HERE

The picture above is at the far right side of the back yard, at the end of the pool.  Becky has some beautiful yard art, and I particularly liked this angel.

Just to the left of the angel is a beautiful patio area, sheltered by a bougainvillea covered wooden trellis. The patio has a pizza oven as well as a regular over.  Can you imagine cooking and eating in this lovely spot?

I love those twinkle lights and the trim on the trellis.  So pretty.

The plant pictured directly above is the trunk of the bougainvillea plant.  Bougainvillea is abundant in this area, and I always enjoy seeing the different colors.  We have fuscia, light pink, white, coral and purple varieties. The flowers bloom most of the year here on the coast.  It is beautiful, but has vicious thorns that can really scratch if you're not careful.

Another wall in the trellis area, with a sweet little fountain and hanging candle holders.  Becky's husband did all of the tile work here, too.  You can see more of his handiwork in the previous post.

My son-in-law and grandson enjoyed taking a break to play tic-tac-toe in the shade.  Becky painted the ladybugs, too.  Looks like the little one is winning.

Here's a little peek into the next section of Becky's garden.  I'll show you that next week.  But before we go, here are a few more lovelies from the trellis area.

Brilliant crotons

Exotic bromiliads - wonderful, but they hold water and breed mosquitos.

Bleeding hearts - I love them (but not the liberal kind).  That's a joke, Gail-Friends.  I hope you laughed out loud.  Come back next week to see the fourth installment of the pond tour.  I'll be showing you Becky's potting area.  You will love it.

Thankful Thursday is my weekly discipline - to express my gratitude to Hashem for His over-flowing, abundant blessings.

Thankful Thursday - Pond Tour 2014 - #2

Our next stop on the Pond Tour was at the home of Becky Naylor (above). You are in for a real treat today as we visit her lovely garden and pond.  Becky has the gift of hospitality, as you will see on this tour.  She welcomed us whole-heartedly, and patiently answered our many questions.  Believe me, my husband's honey-do list grew by leaps and bounds after seeing this garden.

I knew I'd found a kindred spirit the moment I walked into her yard.  Becky loves painting, gardening, birds, angels, and the L-rd.  Below is the Scripture she painted by her front door:

As you walk through the gate, you see a shady, tropical walkway that leads to a sitting area under a gazebo.  The swing has decorative crosses hung on the fence.

The seating area you see on the left has a beautiful painting (done by Becky)

The space between the house and the fence is narrow, but Becky has made the most of every inch.  She does the same for her whole property, as you will see.  There is so much more!

This is the fire pit.  Wouldn't it be lovely to sit the fire and chat in this lovely spot?  Becky's husband does all of the tile work.  He is quite an artist himself, as you will see throughout the whole backyard space.  Below is a tile mosaic on the wall of their patio.

Stunning is all I can say.  They are a talented team of artists.

As you turn the corner, you see the lovely pool area.  Don't you love the plantings along the sides?

On your right is Becky's pond, which is small, but so beautifully arranged with stones, statuary, and tropical plants.

There is so much to see in Becky's garden, I've decided to do several posts about it.  Come back next week to see her outdoor kitchen, that includes a pizza oven.  And you have to see her potting area, which was my favorite part.  Becky is one amazing creative woman, and I'm so thankful to have met her.

Thankful Thursday is my weekly discipline - to express my gratitude to Hashem for His over-flowing, abundant blessings.
