Thankful Thursday - Answered Prayers

Oh, how I thank ADONAI for the gift of prayer.  To think that the G-d of the Universe listens to us when we call out to Him.  It is a blessed privilege that I cherish with all of my heart.  I've been thinking lately about the thousands of prayers He has answered for me, for my husband and children, and many, many others I know.

Do you know that He always answers our prayers?  Sometimes He says YES, sometimes He says NO, and sometimes He says WAIT A WHILE.

Do you know He says, "Pray about everything"?  Here's the verse from the King James Version, which is how I memorized it years ago:

Be careful for nothing;

 but in every thing by prayer and supplication 

with thanksgiving 

let your requests be made known unto God.

(Philippians 4:6)

I've learned to do that.  He answered one of my prayers with big YES today with this:

I'd been praying to find a club chair with a matching ottoman for many months.  Hashem said, "Wait a while."  I've learned to be patient on these type of prayers.  I found this like-new chair, with matching ottoman, at a thrift store today. . . and they were having a half-off sale.  I got this beauty for $12.50.   This photo doesn't do it justice because it was a quick shot to catch Zoe trying the chair out.  We'd just taken it out of the car when she jumped right up to try it out.  She did give it her seal of approval, but she was shamefaced because she's not allowed on the furniture.  (She forgets sometimes.)

Every day, I'm thankful for answered prayers for our country.

The eight years under Obama were horrible.  I watched almost every value I hold dear be stomped in the ground.  I wept when he was elected (both times).  Did I riot in the streets?  Did I stand on street corners or parade in the streets with filthy language on signs?  Did I threaten him or his family?  No, I prayed and I stood up for and spoke out for my beliefs and believed that ADONAI would bless America again.  And He said YES!!  He's using Donald Trump to accomplish His plan.

In the beginning, I didn't really want to vote for Trump, but I did by election day. He has been an amazing president. . . like none I've seen in my lifetime and I'm so thankful that he's keeping his campaign promises.  Here are just a few of his accomplishments within his first fifteen months:

He's supportive of Bible-believers and encourages Americans to pray and depend on G-d.
He has supported the National Day of Prayer and spoke at this year's event.
He supports respect for the American flag and our national anthem.
He supports and encourages deep respect for our military, police, and first responders.
He's supportive of our Second Amendment rights.
He loves America and believes patriotism is a good thing. (Me, too!)

He's turned the country around financially, bringing the stock market to an all-time high.
His policies have brought businesses back to America.
Joblessness is at an all-time low for all Americans, including minorities and women.
The number of welfare recipients is at an all-time low.
He spear-headed a tax-cut and bonuses for middle-income Americans.
He's restoring our military and respect for the leaders of each branch.
He supports the Constitution.
Our standing and respect among other countries have improved.  (He doesn't kiss the ring of anybody. I like that.)


He brought North Korea to the negotiating table to give up their nuclear weapons.  They are cooperating!
He brought three prisoners back home from North Korea TODAY!
He got us out of the terrible Iran nuclear deal from Obama's regime.  (Would love to see held accountable for the pallets of CASH sent to Iran.)
He's enforcing our immigration laws and building the wall on the Mexico border.
He's clearing out the do-nothing members of Congress.  (He calls it draining the swamp. I agree.)
He's working on the disaster called Obamacare. (Did you know premiums will be sky-rocketing this year?)
He has cleaned up Facebook, Google, Twitter, and others to protect our internet privacy rights.

I like President Trump because:

He's not beholden to anybody in D.C.
He's not a politician.
He's a businessman and I believe he will lead our country to balance the budget and get out of debt.
He tells it like it is.
He TWEETS!!! (Nobody can twist his words.)
He calls out FAKE news!!!  The major news outlets report fake stories and don't apologize when they're found to be untrue.  They also spread blatant propaganda to promote a globalist, progressive agenda aka socialism, communism, and the New World Order.

There's much more, but the main thing is this:  I believe Trump has America's best interest at heart.  I pray for him and his family daily and thank G-d for giving us Trump for such a time as this.  He's doing a fine job.  I continue to pray for him to be led in the paths of righteousness and justice.

I also recommend this YouTube video of Trump speaking at his last campaign stop before the November, 2016 election.  It made me want to stand up and holler!!  (I did stand up and holler when I heard him speak in person that year.)    Here's an excerpt from the speech:

"Just imagine what our country could accomplish if we started working together as one people, under one God, saluting one American flag.  I’m asking you to dream big because with your vote we are just hours away from the change you’ve been waiting for your entire life.  So to every parent who dreams for their child and to every child who dreams for their future I say these words to you tonight.  I am with you.  I will fight for you and I will win for you.  I promise.

To all Americans tonight in all of our cities and in all of our towns, I pledge to you one more time. Together we will make American wealthy again.  We will make America strong again. We will make America safe again and we will make America great again!"

Trump has done a lion's share to turn this country around and we each have a responsibility to help him.  The mid-term elections this year are critical to replacing the upcoming empty seats in the Congress.  Our support of conservative candidates are vital to Trump being able to continue to make America great again.

I'm committed to do my duty as a citizen:  to let my elected officials know my thoughts and desires about important issues and votes in Congress; to vet the ones who run for office; to pray for, work for, and vote for the candidates who support Judeo-Christian values; to vote out those who work for their own selfish ends instead of America's best interests.  I pray you will do the same.  G-d being our helper, let's all make this pledge:

National Day of Prayer 2016

Today is the National Day of Prayer, and this is my prayer from my heart:

"Father, I praise You for the great blessing of being born in America. I was born in the 1950's and thank you for the peace our country has known ever since I've been in this world. I praise you that our country was founded on the principles of Your Holy Word. I remember how I used to hear the Bible every morning in school and how we prayed at the beginning of each school day. Forgive me for not standing up for You when the Bible and prayer were removed from our schools. Forgive me for not being involved in the selection of G-dly men and women for public offices on the local, state and national level. Forgive me for thinking that our country would always be a nation under Your holy laws. My indifference and neglect of my duties as a citizen have led to the downfall of our country. Forgive me for not praying every day for my country. Forgive me for disobeying Your Word by thinking it's really not important to obey everything You say. Forgive me for listening to preachers and teachers who told me to disobey your commandments, especially the commandment about Your Sabbath. You said, "above all my Sabbaths you shall keep." I'm so sorry for the part I've played in the demise of my country. I'm sorry for being afraid to speak up for You because of the threats of people and the government about politically correct words. Forgive me for not diligently teaching Your Truth to others. Help me to be fearless in telling people Your truth because it sets us free and gives us peace and comfort. I thank You that Jesus paid for these sins, and I praise You for His blood that paid the price. Father, I resolve to obey You in all things and to diligently study Your Word so I can know what "wicked ways" means because you said, "If my people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and heal their land." I will do this, and Father, I pray for You to have mercy on America. I know it can only come through repentance and a return to obedience to Your Word. Your Word and Your Ways are LIFE, and I pray for every one who reads this to repent, and turn to You, accept that You are the one, true G-d and our only hope is in You." Amen

Thankful Thursday - The Waiting Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the parenting lesson you've given me in Luke 15:

The prodigal's father could have run after his beloved son, tracked him down, and done everything he could to save him from pain and suffering.  He didn’t do that.  He allowed his son to learn his own lessons.

The father stayed at home, doing the work you’d given him to do; but, he was praying and he was believing.  He looked down that road every day, hoping to see his son return.  One day it happened.  He ran to meet the wayward son, and the son ran into his arms. 

Pain had done it’s work, and the son had come to his senses.  Wallowing in the pig pen had accomplished what the father could not do. 

Help, Father,  me to be patient while You do Your perfect work in my child.   

Help me to remember it may take much longer than I want.   

Help me to keep my focus on You and the work You’ve called me to do. Prayer is part of my work, and may I not faint  or grow weary in it. 

Help me to learn my own lessons as I go through the pain of watching my dear child suffer. 

Thank you for Your holy work in my child and in me.

My Prayer for America

Today, on this National Day of Prayer, this video expresses my prayer for the world, my country, my state, my town, and my self:  for a return to Torah.

Prayer for the Presidential Debate Tonight

This prayer was sent to me by a friend:

Please join me in  this prayer for the second presidential debate of 2012 which will be held tonight on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.for 6-7:30 p.m. Pacific Time 9-10:30PmEST.. The moderator is Candy Crowley, chief political correspondent for CNN and anchor of the cable network's "State of the Union" show.

Heavenly Father,

You are Adonai Elohim, the King of Kings, the L-rd of L-rds, the Name above all Names! L-rd and Maker of the Universe, we came humbly as the inheritors of Your good and perfect gift, that of Your Son Yeshua The Messiah, we came for the sake of freedom and for the protection of Israel and we asked You this past Sunday evening, to send a host of heavenly angels to Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. . L-rd we asked You to employ angels to clear the building of all demonic forces and influences. We asked You, Adonai Gibbor, to dispatch Your warring angels to surround the building at every entrance and to guard it from every angle. And when the parties show up tonight, we pray for peace to rule in the atmosphere and the Holy Spirit to be the only spirit allowed inside the building. We decree and declare that the angels will block all demonic forces outside the building refusing them entrance throughout the evening in the mighty and all-powerful name of Yeshua against which no demon can stand.

L-rd, we stand in agreement with Your disgust at the continuous lies and deceit put upon the people by those hiding behind Your name and in the name of fairness and charity. L-rd, we bind those lies tonight and we loose truth and light into the air and onto the airwaves. L-rd, just as You sent judgment with the Tower Of Babel, we pray confusion, loss of thought, mumbling and disorientation over Obama and every liberal voice and newscaster every time they try to lie and deceive the American people. We will not allow for lies and falsehood any longer from this President. We proclaim that no deception will be allowed and any falsehood be uncovered and any plan or scheme of the enemy will fail and its effects will be turned back on the planners and senders of evil.

L-rd, we pray for Governor Romney and any conservative voices tonight that you give unprecedented clarity and peace. L-rd, we pray that Romney feel no confusion. L-rd, we pray for discernment and boldness over him, we pray that he be able to call out any past deceit that the Obama Administration has put upon the people and that as the Governor speaks truth the people will be set free and shown a clear and better path. We pray that Romney be able to speak directly to the people. We pray no confrontation be incited between the President and Romney that could be twisted in any way. We pray that you open the hearts and minds of the people. L-rd, we speak against the evil hold of the enemy over our country. We call him out of the darkness for his hatred of our freedom and friendship with Israel and we say no more will we stand by while the snares and entanglements of the enemy and the plans he has for our destruction and enslavement go forward. We capture those plans by the power of the Holy Spirit and the G-d who knows and see all things and we cast those plans in to the lake of fire. We break the hold the enemy has over this country and we wake up the people from the trance of seduction in the Holy name of Yeshua, He who has already refused the enemy. We ask that You remove any leaders in our nation whose hearts are cold and immovable, given over to the enemy. Return the people to their knees in humility and open our eyes to the sin in our hearts as we have forgotten our morals and denied You the obedience you deserve. L-rd, we recognize as in the book of Judges, when the people begin to serve themselves above You then destruction comes. We ask for Your mercy to save our nation before complete destruction comes. Wash our nation from the blood of the unborn. We denounced the communist proclamation “Forward” and speak restoration over this country. We reclaim freedom from sin as a virtue over our nation and we worship You, Adonai.

L-rd G-d, as You parted the Red Sea, we know only You can make a way where there seems to be no way. We seal these things in all authority given to us by the victorious blood of Yeshua in which we stand and are fully covered. The devil and his minions are defeated and they must take their place under our feet. There is no weapon formed against us that may triumph.

The American Prayer Initiative

My prayer, dear Gail-Friends, is that you will please consider joining the American Prayer Initiative.  I have prayed these prayers for the past 31 days and will continue to pray them going forward.   You can sign up at the link below, and have the prayers sent to you daily in your  e-mail box.

These prayers are non-denominational and non-partisan. I believe our country needs to turn back to G-d, and repentance is important in order for G-d to have mercy on us. We, as a people and as a country, have turned our backs on G-d. The country was founded by G-dly men on Biblical principles, and we have strayed from that in many ways...like taking prayer and Bible reading out of the schools.

At Ma'gen Da'vid Synagogue, we are printing these prayers and giving them to our congregation this Friday night at our Sabbath service.  We will also pray them together that night.  We will encourage our members to pray the prayers at home with their families daily up through the Presidential election on November 6, 2012.

Please prayerfully consider joining me in this prayer effort for our country.   I hope you will ask your synagogue, church, or Bible study group to join these prayers for America.

You are the light of the world.  A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.  Matthew 5:14,16 His life brought light to everyone.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never be extinguished.  John 1:4-5  Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.  Proverbs 29:18 I am about to do something new.  See, I have already begun!  Do you not see it?  I will make a pathway through the wilderness.  I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.  Isaiah 43:19

Suggested prayers ... Thank you, L-rd, that in You America can once again become a "City on a Hill" - Your beacon to the world. We petition You, L-rd, to lead us according to Your plan, in Your timing, with the power of Your Holy Spirit.  We know You are infinitely bigger and brighter than the darkness before us. We ask that You remind us to keep our eyes and minds focused on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and worthy of praise.  Help us to elevate conversations and relationships to those higher things.  May You be the prompter and completer of any daunting tasks before us.  In You only may we find our voice to speak, our strength to move. G-d in heaven, we pray that America may become a great beacon of Your standards. As the world sees Your ways and Your love demonstrated in this great country, may they be drawn to Your Son.

Also, Father, I pray America will be drawn to and turn to Your holy ways according to Your Torah because Your ways are life giving.  Our Founding Fathers believed in You and based our founding documents on Your Word.  May we return to their vision when they founded America.

Citizens/Voters

Suggested prayers ... Teach us, L-rd, to value our role as citizens.  Awaken in the electorate a desire to know the true principles upon which this country was built, and draw us to Your vision for the restoration of our beloved country. We ask for leaders and a citizenry who truly understand our accountability before You as the ultimate and sovereign Authority. As our citizens go through the process of deciding how to vote, we ask L-rd, that You guide our thoughts with Your desires for our nation. We ask You to grant our citizens the wisdom to discern truth from deception. G-d Almighty, we plead with you to guide, guard, convict and correct all candidates, campaigns, consultants, political operatives and staff members.  We ask You to draw them to integrity before the voters of this country.  Give them the will to honestly place their values and visions before the voters, free of manipulation and deception.  We ask You to expose and defeat those who lie.  We pray, L-rd, against the voter fraud that has so crippled our confidence in the electoral process.  We ask You to expose and bring to justice those who would undermine free and fair elections. Rid our system of corruption, we pray. O L-rd, give me the wisdom and the courage to confidently and winsomely take a stand for Your Truth with my fellow citizens.  Use my voice, L-rd, I pray. ***********************************

International Relations

Suggested Scriptural references ... Suggested prayers ... We ask for Your wisdom, discernment and strength in all our dealings with other nations. L-rd, as we pray for the restoration of America, we pray that You would make America a light to the world. Father in heaven, allow us to restore a sense of national dignity.  Teach us once again to be a virtuous people, worthy of respect.  Allow the world to see Your truth displayed in our citizenry. G-d of our Fathers, forgive our failures to seek Your guidance as we interact with the nations of Your world. Please give Your perspective on this world and Your wisdom to all those who represent America in official dealings with other nations. As our citizens travel abroad, L-rd, we ask You to quicken us to represent our nation honorably. We pray that America would take the lead in ending greed and corruption around Your world.  May we be a blessing to all nations, L-rd, but we especially ask You to lead us in our attitude and dealings with the nation of Israel, and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem in accordance with Your Holy Scriptures. We ask You to lead and convict those who set foreign policy with a full understanding of Your Scriptural mandate to bless Israel.** We would ask, L-rd, for favor from other nations who have benefited from the sacrifice of American blood and treasure. ********************************
