Sing and Celebrate Shavuot

 Shavuot - Celebrate His Gift

We are celebrating Shavuot today - the giving of God's Laws at Mt. Sinai.  This is a re-post about a previous celebration.  Please continue to pray for Israel as they are being attacked by the Palestinians as I write today.

This weekend, we remembered and observed God's commandment to celebrate the feast of Shavuot.  We put this beautiful hand-made curtain on the ark, which holds the scroll, in preparation for the Torah procession.  It was made by our congregation member, LaVonne Craft, and the Hebrew says - The Torah is a tree of life.  Blessed is the man who takes hold of it.  This is so true of me.  When I began to read and obey the Torah, my life changed dramatically.

Shavuot is God's commanded day to remember His gift of the Torah to Moses (and us) on Mt. Sinai. Also, this was the day the Ruach Ha Kodesh came down on those who were gathered in a Shavuot celebration at Jerusalem after the resurrection of Yeshua. He wrote the Torah on their hearts that day, and He's still doing it today. Haleluyah! We take His Word wherever we go. We are His disciples - teaching others about Yeshua and His commandments. You can learn more about this commanded feast, and see photos of our past celebrations, in my blog posts HERE.

This week, in preparation for Shavuot, I found this video about the Torah.  It asks the question, "What would a world without Torah look like?" We watched this video at our synagogue's celebration, and I hope you will watch it, too, dear Gail-Friends:   If the Jewish People Never Received the Torah

On Shavuot, it's a tradition to parade the Torah and to praise Adonai for His great gift.   I love this video of a celebration of Shavuot.  If this song gets your toes to tapping, grab your gift -- the HOLY BIBLE - and join the dance!

Pray for Israel

(copied from Jewish Jewels on Facebook)
As many of you may know, tensions are rising rapidly and there are many talks of full-scale war between Israel and its Arab neighbors. The recent conflict comes after Israel retaliates for the more than 1,500 rockets fired from Gaza into Israel at civilian targets, and now 2 rockets fired from Lebanon. Our only hope for peace in any situation is the Prince of Peace, our Messiah Yeshua. The Lord loves the Jews, and He loves the Arabs. His desire is for all to come to repentance. May courage reign in the hearts of those who seek the truth of the Lord. May eyes be opened, ears be unstopped, and hearts be softened to receive the Word of the Lord. For Yeshua is the only way to salvation, and we must follow Him! Please continue to pray for Jerusalem and Israel, and her enemies. "Arise O Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee" (Num. 10:35).

Psalm 121
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Please Pray With Me

Today is the day officially set aside in the United States of America as The National Day of Prayer.  People all of the country will be praying for our country, our leaders, and for each one of us as citizens.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (below) is often quoted about saving America, but I believe it is mostly misunderstood.  Please read this scripture in context. The people had thrown Adonai's Torah behind their backs -- scorned it -- refused to obey His laws.  Our country, including many, many churches have done the same.

Beloved, this is the gospel of true repentance: Turn from your disobedience to His laws (Torah), accept that Yeshua is the only payment for those sins, and walk in obedience to Torah. This will save our land.

Prior to learning about God's Torah, I was taught that we don't have to obey Adonai's laws any longer.  That stumped me because Yeshua and His disciples obeyed them.  Even the apostle, Paul, obeyed them.  It's sad that people teach this lie.

Another thing I was taught is that there's no way we can't keep all of His laws.  This is true because some are for men, some are for women, and some can only be obeyed in the land of Israel.  Nevertheless, many teachers say we're not under the Law, and that it's no longer applicable.  This is a falsehood aka LIE.

I saw a graphic this week that I have to share with you:

These things are only the beginning.  There are laws related to business, agriculture, treatment of animals, personal relations, marriage, children -- and much more.

Remember, dear Gail-Friends, Yeshua said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments."

He also said, "Take my yoke upon you, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light."  He obeyed Torah, kept Adonai's Sabbath, (not the one established by the Roman Catholic Church) observed the feasts and festivals, and told his disciples to teach this when He gave The Great Commission."   (Matthew 28:18-20) :

18 Yeshua came and talked with them. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim, immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age. (Complete Jewish Bible)

If you believe that Yeshua is God in the flesh (the Great Three in One), then the commandments He spoke of are indeed His Torah -- His commandments -- the Law.  And, nothing He taught the disciples while on earth is in conflict with, or disobedient to, the Torah.

Most people have never studied (or believed) the book of Leviticus, which details many of the laws of Adonai.  Therefore, we are seeing a great apostasy in the church today because people are not being obedient to many, many of God's laws.  Preachers teach their people to disobey God.  They probably are unaware of  the words of Yeshua in Revelation 22:

14 How blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they have the right to eat from the Tree of Life and go through the gates into the city! 15 Outside are the homosexuals, those involved with the occult and with drugs, the sexually immoral, murderers, idol-worshippers, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. (Complete Jewish Bible)

The world will be a better place when revival comes, and this is what I'm praying for -- a revival of holiness.  That holiness is detailed in His Torah.  I pray you will read it and obey it.
