He's Been Faithful To Me!

Today's song is He's Been Faithful to Me by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir - please listen to the words and remember all the times He's been faithful to you and Praise HIM!!!

This song always makes me cry. as I remember all the times God has been faithful to me.  I have many of them recorded in my prayer journal.  I write them down because when troubles come along, it's easy to forget all the things He's done over the seventy years of my life.

This is a good thing to do daily - make a list of all the things God has done for you.  A good start is:

He covered me in my mother's womb
He gave me LIFE!!
I can see
I can walk
I can talk
I can hear
I have strength
Food on the table
A roof over my head

You get the idea, right?

It's a good practice to list at least three things you're thankful for every day.  I have a little green notebook by my bed, and I make my list before I go to sleep.  It's good to count your blessings as you lie down, and when you wake during the night, too.  Those things are part of His faithfulness to us.  Everything comes by His loving hand.

I believe the next two weeks are critical to the future of America.  Evil forces are working to steal the election from President Trump.  We who believe in Adonai as the Almighty One Who Works Wonders and Miracles are doing battle with those evil forces through prayer, praise, and doing our duty as citizens of our beloved country.

As a part of this battle, I'm going to posting updates about this battle along with prayers and praise songs.  The enemy of our souls hates praise.  He has to flee when we resist him with God's Word and words of praise to Adonai and Yeshua.

Golden Moments Has Arrived!

The happy day has arrived, and I'm having a "golden moment" right now because my book, Golden Moments, is finished and available on Amazon.

Do you struggle with the concept of God? Do you wonder if He cares about you? Do you find it hard to pray about the little things in your life?

Golden Moments is a collection of short stories about God working my daily life. I hope that my struggles and prayers will inspire you to see God working in the small, everyday happenings of your life. . .and that you'll be encouraged to pray about everything.

Golden Moments has been enjoyed by both my male and female pre-readers.  I think the book is a perfect gift for Mother's Day, and you should receive it in plenty of time for that special day.  I know that mothers, daughters, and friends will be blessed to receive it.  If you're an Amazon Prime member, shipping is free!

~~~
It's been a learning experience to publish this book, and I have to give thanks to my writing buddies, LaVonne, Betty and Peggy for all the help they've given me.  I greatly appreciate all of my pre-readers, too, for their input in spotting the typos.
Above all,  I must give praise and thanks to God for His inspiration, help and guidance on this project.
I'm really thankful for the day we live in, Gail-Friends.  When I started writing for publication, the process of having a book published was long and hard.  With the current print-on-demand process, it is much simpler and much quicker.
Wisdom Wednesdays - Faith in Hard Times
The display in the photo above was posted several months ago, following the death of twenty-one Coptic Christians in Libya.  Weren't we all horrified that such a thing could happen in our day and time?  Since then, many more have been killed by these Muslims.  They are threatening to do the same in America.
This ties in with the sad news that Elizabeth Elliot passed away this week. Her husband, and fellow missionary, was a also martyr for His faith.
Elisabeth's book, Through Gates of Splendor, tells the story of  ministry with her husband, Jim Elliot, to natives in Equador.  Jim was killed by the natives to whom they ministered.  Elisabeth's faith never failed.  She clung to the hand of Adonai through that difficult time, and continued to grow in her faith and ministry.  The movie, The End of the Spear, tells the story of Jim's death, and later the conversion of those same natives through Elisabeth's ministry.
Her writing greatly impacted my life when I was in my thirties, and I learned a great deal from her about faith. I still aspire to have her kind of constant, unfailing trust.  This quote touched me:
God shields us from most of the things we fear,
but when He chooses not to shield us,
He unfailingly allots grace in the measure needed.
It is for us to choose to receive or refuse it.
Our joy or our misery will depend on that choice.
Elisabeth Elliot
G-d never promised a life without problems, but He did promise to be with us in the hard times.  I learned from Elisabeth Elliot's story and other believers such as Catherine Marshall, Dale Evans, and George Mueller and looked at them as my faith mentors.  Their stories helped me when I went through my own dark, hard times.
This verse encourages me when I walk through a dark valley:
We are hard-pressed on every side,
yet not crushed;
we are perplexed,
 but not in despair;
persecuted,
but not forsaken;
struck down,
but not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9
We live in a day when believers in Yeshua are being persecuted and even killed for their faith.  We, too, may have to suffer.  I pray for my faith to stay firm through whatever comes in my life.  I know His grace will carry me through if I continue to cling to His hand.
G-d's presence, comfort and guidance in my life while I've faced hardship have been a constant.  Every trial has taught me more about His love and grace.  Through hardship, I've learned to lean into His strength, and have been taught knowledge about Him that no one can ever take away from me.  I can say, with all sincerity, "He is my beloved.  Entreat me not to leave Him.  He is lovely.  He is beautiful."
Wisdom Wednesdays - Emunah
אמונה
Emunah is the Hebrew word for faith.  The Scriptures mention it many times throughout the New and Old Testaments.
As a young woman, I set a goal to become a woman of faith.   I had several mentors in my life who showed great faith, and I aspired to be like them.  These women spoke of their faith in Hashem, of the Scriptures, and encouraged me to pray and live a life of faith.  That was my heart's desire then, as well as now.
I remember attending a teacher's meeting where we were required  to memorize I John 5:14-15 (KJV)
14 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us:
15 And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.
I grumbled to one of the older ladies sitting near me, "I hate memorizing things, don't you?"
She turned and looked deep into my eyes, smiled and seemed to glow, "Oh, no, Gail.  Hiding G-d's Word in our hearts makes those precious promises so much more helpful to us.  Think about this promise, Gail: we can have CONFIDENCE that He HEARS US when we ask for something that is His will.  Isn't that wonderful?  But there is more, Gail.  He not only hears us, He also promises to give us what we pray for."  She was really excited about it, and she made me excited, too.
The Bible verse came alive to me that day.  I memorized it, clung to it with my whole heart, and I still repeat it to myself.
I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that when we pray for someone to come to Yeshua, and believe in and surrender to Him, He will answer that prayer.  One reason I believe this is because His heart's desire is for all men and women and children to come to Him.  This is His purpose in making this world and everything in it.   This is His purpose in preserving His Holy Word over thousands of years.
I prayed for my father to bow the knee to G-d until he was seventy-five years old .  It happened on his death bed.  Every time I visited him, I begged him to surrender.  After several days, he repented in tears and surrendered to Yeshua.  I will never forget the vision I had at that moment.  I saw a completely black sky.  Then I saw a tiny speck that glowed like a twinkling star.  It grew bigger and bigger and came closer and closer.  Then I saw it - a newly born baby, completely naked.  I knew my father had been born again at that moment. My prayers, and of many others, had been answered.
I remember, as a little girl,the many times a preacher would come and talk to my father about surrender.  Daddy never would.  How sad that all those years were lost.
Over the past few months, three of my most fervent prayers for people to surrender to Hashem have been answered:
  1.  One I prayed for four years.
  2.  One I prayed for twenty-five years.
  3.  One I prayed for thirty-six years.
Never give up, Gail-Friends.  Have faith, and when your faith grows weak, pray for more faith.  That's another prayer I know Hashem will hear and answer.
We'll talk about faith more next week.
I would love to hear your praises for answered prayer.
