Sabbath Music - If My People

Shabbat Shalom, Y'all and I pray you are prepared and ready to rest, refresh, renew and enjoy time with our loving Heavenly Father.  I treasure my Sabbath time and look forward to it every week.

Here's a song that's been on my heart this week since we just observed Yom Kippur.  If My People is based on this Scripture:

"If my people,
who are called by My Name,
will humble themselves
 and pray
and seek My face
and turn from their wicked ways,
then will I hear from heaven
 and will forgive their sin
and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14

Many of you have heard this verse, probably all of your life if you're like me, and grew up in a Baptist Church.  I always reverently bowed my head and searched my heart for sins.  Not until I became a Messianic believer did I truly understand the full meaning of the verse.  If you study the chapters prior to this verse, you'll see that the people had turned away from Torah, from His laws, His Sabbath, His Feasts and Festivals, and had embraced false gods.  Hashem was telling them the only way to be forgiven and to heal their land was to begin to follow Him again.

This has not changed for those of us reading the Bible today.  He expects us to turn away from false gods, including teachers who tell us it's no longer necessary to obey his laws or observe His Sabbath and Feasts and Festivals.  That is what He means when He says, "Turn from your wicked ways."  I was humbled when I first understood this, and I pray you will be, too, if you're only understanding this for the first time.

Hashem forgives our sins through Yeshua's blood, and that's the only way of forgiveness.  But He also expects us to follow and obey His Torah.  This is the message Yeshua and the disciples taught.
Yeshua said,

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
immersing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Ruach ha-Kodesh
teaching them to observe all I have commanded you.  (Matthew 28:19-20 TLV)

If you believe Yeshua is God in the flesh, and that He is the same yesterday, today and forever, then my beloved Gail-Friends, He would not disobey the Torah.  He would follow it - and He did.  If you say you are following Yeshua and you sit under someone who teaches you to disobey His Sabbath, you are not following Him.  If you are following a religion that teaches you to disobey His laws, you are following a false religion and a false gospel.

I pray you will prayerfully consider these things. Read the Torah (the first five books of the Old Testament) first and foremost.  I think of this as Bible 101 - the basis of all Scripture.  Next, read the four gospels of the New Testament - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.  Notice where Yeshua went, what He read, what He did, what He said, which Sabbath He observed, and that He observed the Feasts and Festivals.  This is the real, and the only, Messiah.  Follow Him, not the false religions being promoted today.  You will be blessed and find life.

7 Days of Prayer for America - Day 3

I will continue my regular postings next week.

7 7 7: An Urgent Call to Prayer - DAY TWO

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive all
WISDOM

"Yeshua, the power of G-d and the wisdom of G-d."  -- 1 Corinthians 1:24

  • We worship You, L-rd Yeshua, for You are the incarnation of G-d’s wisdom. Your judgments are unsearchable. Your ways are past finding out. Your thoughts are higher than ours. Your plans never include a mistake. There are no accidents as You carry out Your purpose.  You never have to second-guess what You have done, or what You plan to do.  You are right…all the time, in every way.
  • I worship You as___________
  • We repent of our attitude of familiarity with You that has caused us to lose our reverential fear of You, and thus we have not even the beginning of wisdom with which to handle the vast knowledge we possess.
  • We repent as we acknowledge our foolishness of denying You as the one, true, living G-d, our Creator to whom we are accountable, living as though our lives are a cosmic accident with no eternal significance, purpose or meaning.
  • We repent of leaning on our own understanding, immersing ourselves in politics to change our nation, instead of looking to You.
  • We repent, as a church, Your Body, of depending on programs instead of prayer, on activities instead of the Spirit’s life, on orthodoxy instead of obedience.
  • We repent of succumbing to conventional wisdom or popular opinion instead of seeking You first, and asking You what we should or should not do.
  • I repent of ____________
  • We choose to honor You as the source of all life, living with reverential fear and respect for You, and conducting ourselves according to Your stated principles and values as given in Your Word.
  • I choose now to ________________
  • We ask that our example of looking to You for wisdom would be contagious, as others observe that life lived according to Your wisdom works.
  • We ask that You would open our spiritual eyes to see the foolishness of following the crowd, or compromising eternal Truth because it is not politically correct, or succumbing to peer pressure in order to be more accepted, or trying to blend into our culture so as not to invite criticism or ostracism, and so live eternally wasted lives.
  • We ask that You expose the lies that deny the Truth, and the spin that distorts the Truth, so that evil has no hiding place.
  • We ask that You generously give us and our leaders wisdom from on High.
  • We ask that You give us creative wisdom to effectively present the Gospel** to our generation.
  • I humbly ask that _____________
 FOR YOUR GLORY,

AMEN
 ************

I invite you to pray with us for 7 Days, July 1 through July 7, and then pray and fast for 7 hours on July 7.  (to learn more HERE)

I hope you will join this prayer effort and spread the word, even if you start late.

I will be posting prayers for each of the 7 days.

**The Gospel was preached by John the Baptist, Yeshua the Messiah, and the disciples.  This Gospel includes repenting of sin, and obedience to G-d's ways outlined in the Torah.  Prior to the death and resurrection of Yeshua, the blood of animals paid for sin.  His sacrifice became the blood acceptable by Adonai.  Yeshua said we are to obey His Commandments, not the rules and religions of the Pharisees and Sadduccees, which are comparable to the religions of the present day..

31 Days of Prayer For Our Children - Day 27

To Preach the Good News

And Yeshua went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom.   (Matthew 4:23)

Yeshua said:  The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand: repent and believe the Good News
 (Mark 1:15)

Father, I pray my children will understand  that Teshuva (Repentance) means turning back to Torah.   Yeshua preached the Good News before He went to the cross.  Teshuva is turning back to  and accepting Your Way and Your Word.  You are Kadosh (Holy).  Your Ways are not our ways.  I pray for my children to understand Your Kadosh.

Thank you that we can learn Your Ways through study of  Your Torah.  May my children understand that many people and churches today preach "another" gospel.  Just as the leaders during the time of Yeshua had perverted Torah and set up man-made rules, religions and churches have done the same today.  They preach another gospel.  That gospel does not include Teshuva and throws out Your Torah.  Yeshua preached Teshuva and showed us how to live the Torah.

Father, I pray for my children to carry the message of repentance and faith in Yeshua Ha-Mashach.   I pray they will understand that your grace never changed from the Old Testament to the New.   You don't take sin lightly, and You require a blood sacrifice for the remission of sin.

My study of Leviticus taught me so much about the blood.  It sobered me to imagine having to take an animal to the priest to be slaughtered every time I sin.    Thank You, Father, that Yeshua paid the ultimate and final payment when He shed His blood.  No more do we have to sacrifice animals.    That truly is good news.  Thank You for Your blood, and may You be glorified forever through the mighty Name, Power, and Blood of Yeshua Ha-Mashiach.
