January 27
Keep the Memory Alive
The International Holocaust Memorial Day is observed each year on the
27th of January. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation
of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. 2015 will also be
the 20th anniversary of the Genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia.

Never Forget...
Thank you so much for sharing this post. People need to remember this day and all of the poor souls who suffered or lost the lives.

What a sad state of affairs.
ReplyDeleteWorst yet, I have been told, public schools in America are beginning to teach it never happened.
Such a slap in the face to those who suffered personally or knew someone.
Thank you for being willing to remind people this did happen.
Michelle, it's nothing new. I saw a documentary where young people in Germany don't know about Hitler's reign or the Holocaust because it isn't taught in schools. I met a young Vietnamese nail tech recently who'd never heard about Americans fighting in her country. Now, here's the worst one: I heard that the some schools are going to only teach American history beginning with the years AFTER the Civil War. There's going to be a whole lot of history lost on that one. This is one reason the Jews were diligent about recording the Torah as well as in passing down oral history.
