Thankful Thursday - The Golden Years

So much to be thank-FULL for this week.  The flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, and I am just filled with JOY, Gail-Friends.  This poem is just right for this wonder-FULL time of the year:

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
~Percy Bysshe Shelley.

My sweet hubby and I were on a trip to Barberville for the Spring Fling event, when we saw these beauty-FULL flowers growing along the sides of the road and in the median.  The photos don't do justice to the brightness of the pinks, lavenders, and crimsons spread out for miles.

We really enjoyed the singing, music and dancing at the Barberville event.  They had some very entertaining story tellers, too.  I especially loved hearing the hammered dulcimer concert.

On the way back, I asked Jem if he'd stop and let me get some of the field flowers to plant in the yard.  He's always so obliging.

Isn't he just the sweetest man in the whole, wide world???

Yes, he is, and I'm the most blessed woman, too.  The past ten years have been the best and happiest of my life.  Yes, these truly are the "Golden Years" in more ways than one.  I love being Mrs. Golden.

He's been hard at work on our yard, sprucing it up for spring and summer.

These are the two new birdbaths he added to our collection.  I love them both.  The neighborhood cats love the lower one and use it for their own drinking spot every morning.

He even painted Jemima Puddle Duck.  Doesn't she look pretty?

Mr. Golden also blessed me with two bouquets of flowers for Mother's Day.  This one was on my breakfast tray, along with the pancakes he made.  I was a pampered princess for sure.

I loved the mason jar with flowers, and thought at first that he'd used one from our pantry.  When I looked closer, I saw that it was a special one that said "Jardin" (garden in French).  I absolutely love that jar, and resolve to always keep it full of fresh flowers!

So far, May has been a wonderful month, and our anniversary isn't even here yet.  I'm so thankful for all the blessings poured out so far.

What are you thankful for this week?

Blessings to you all, Gail-Friends.
