Today is the day officially set aside in the United States of America as The National Day of Prayer. People all of the country will be praying for our country, our leaders, and for each one of us as citizens.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (below) is often quoted about saving America, but I believe it is mostly misunderstood. Please read this scripture in context. The people had thrown Adonai's Torah behind their backs -- scorned it -- refused to obey His laws. Our country, including many, many churches have done the same.
Beloved, this is the gospel of true repentance: Turn from your disobedience to His laws (Torah), accept that Yeshua is the only payment for those sins, and walk in obedience to Torah. This will save our land.
Prior to learning about God's Torah, I was taught that we don't have to obey Adonai's laws any longer. That stumped me because Yeshua and His disciples obeyed them. Even the apostle, Paul, obeyed them. It's sad that people teach this lie.
Another thing I was taught is that there's no way we can't keep all of His laws. This is true because some are for men, some are for women, and some can only be obeyed in the land of Israel. Nevertheless, many teachers say we're not under the Law, and that it's no longer applicable. This is a falsehood aka LIE.
I saw a graphic this week that I have to share with you:
These things are only the beginning. There are laws related to business, agriculture, treatment of animals, personal relations, marriage, children -- and much more.
Remember, dear Gail-Friends, Yeshua said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments."
He also said, "Take my yoke upon you, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light." He obeyed Torah, kept Adonai's Sabbath, (not the one established by the Roman Catholic Church) observed the feasts and festivals, and told his disciples to teach this when He gave The Great Commission." (Matthew 28:18-20) :
18 Yeshua came and talked with them. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim, immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh, 20 and
teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And
remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the
age. (Complete Jewish Bible)
If you believe that Yeshua is God in the flesh (the Great Three in One), then the commandments He spoke of are indeed His Torah -- His commandments -- the Law. And, nothing He taught the disciples while on earth is in conflict with, or disobedient to, the Torah.
Most people have never studied (or believed) the book of Leviticus, which details many of the laws of Adonai. Therefore, we are seeing a great apostasy in the church today because people are not being obedient to many, many of God's laws. Preachers teach their people to disobey God. They probably are unaware of the words of Yeshua in Revelation 22:
14 How
blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they have the right to
eat from the Tree of Life and go through the gates into the city! 15 Outside
are the homosexuals, those involved with the occult and with drugs, the
sexually immoral, murderers, idol-worshippers, and everyone who loves
and practices falsehood. (Complete Jewish Bible)
The world will be a better place when revival comes, and this is what I'm praying for -- a revival of holiness. That holiness is detailed in His Torah. I pray you will read it and obey it.
Hello from Kansas. I'll chirp in. It's my understanding that we receive salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ when we believe and receive him as the only begotten son of Almighty God that will save us from our sins when he becomes our personal savior. That Jesus did the work on the cross (It is finished) when he died for our sins and rose again in 3 days. It is in him that I place my trust and faith. The assurance of my salvation is in Jesus Christ not through laws. Following godly living is something we will want to do after getting born again. The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truths. 2 Chronicles 7:14 has indeed already happened. Many quote this scripture as if it will happen in 2021. Blessings to you, d
ReplyDeleteDeanna - thank you for commenting. You and I are in agreement about the way of salvation. My point is to the obedience after accepting Him as Savior. The Holy Spirit will indeed lead us into all truth - the basis of truth is the Torah of Elohim. From that truth we find Life. And, yes, many are seeking to follow Him and His Truth -- not the ways of many churches. Yes, I see that revival of holiness - the righteousness of following Torah. People are seeking the truth.
DeleteI also challenge people to read the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the New Testament. Take notes on what Jesus said, did, where He went and when. He did not start a new religion. He followed Judaism as did His disciples. The gospel preached by them, as well as the forerunner, John the Baptist, was "teshuva" which means repent - return to obeying Torah. I also challenge people to read the books of I, II, and III John. This disciple speaks in several places about following God's commandments, just as Yeshua did. L'Chiam (to Life!)
Hi Gail. Yes, I understand that Jesus followed Judaism. Since Jesus is the word made flesh, he is the word of God.
DeleteQuestion. When it comes to all the Levitical laws concerning food, are we as 2021 Christians to follow to the T the laws of what not to eat? What would Jesus have ate and drank while on earth?
Blessings,
d
Yes - absolutely we are to obey those food laws. Like all of God's laws, they are for our LIFE! He loves us and wants us to be healthy! If you study about the foods He commands us not to eat, you'll see that they are un-clean - they are filthy, scavengers, cockroaches of the oceans and rivers. Crabs, lobsters, shrimp, oysters eat the garbage on the bottom of our waterways. Pork is nasty, too. They wallow in filth and carry deadly parasites.
DeleteYeshua would not have eaten these foods. The marketplaces from which the Jews bought food would not have had those foods, either. The Jews bought from their own merchants so they would have been clean foods.
Regarding what He ate while on earth, research that for yourself as I suggested above. You will find it interesting what He did, what He said, where He went, and where He did not.
Thank you, Gail. Appreciate your replies.
DeleteBlessings,
d
A revival of holiness is definitely what we need. To return to God and pay Him homage.
ReplyDeleteYes!!! L'Chiam!
