31 Days of Praying For Our Children - Day 24

^Prosperity 

 By humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches and honor and life. (Proverb 22:4)

To acquire good sense is to love oneself; to treasure discernment is to prosper. (Proverb 19:8)

 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2).

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of G-d! (Romans 11:33)

Father, you know I've never prayed for wealth or fame for myself or my children, but I pray for them to prosper.  I pray for you to give them enough to meet their needs.  Thank You that You have promised to meet all their needs if they will seek Your Kingdom above everything else.  May they realize You as their source, not their jobs.  May they always seek You more than money or prestige.  I know from experience that You will bless them abundantly when they seek Your Kingdom.


I pray for them to know the wealth of knowing You and the riches of Your wisdom.  Nothing can compare to these riches.  Thank You for their abundance in my life.  I pray You will pour out Your prosperity in their lives. 

31 Days of Prayer For Our Children - Day 23

The Greatest Gift

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.  For we know in part and we prophesy in part.  But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (I Corinthians 13)

Father, I pray for my children to understand love...Your love.  Walking in Your love is different from the love the world knows. 

Father, I pray for my children to be:
long-suffering
kind
not envious of others
not to be proud
not to be rude
or always want their own way
not to be easily provoked or offended
not to find joy in sin or evil
to find joy in Your truth
to bear up under all the things You allow in their lives (for You are sovereign)
to believe what Your Word says (not to pick and choose what they like)
to have hope in You in every situation
to endure in serving You to the end of their lives

It is different even than what I've seen in many who profess to believe in You.  Thank You for showing me Your love, and for putting someone in my life who walks in love moment by moment.  My husband, Jem, exemplifies Your love every moment of every day, in every thing he says and does, does not say, and does not do.  Just watching him convicts me of my lack of love.  Thank you for forgiving me for the years of walking through my life without Your love.  May I grow in Your love daily, and may future generations of my family look back on a legacy of Your love. 

I pray for these things in the Name of Yeshua, Ha-Mashiach.

31 Days of Prayer For Our Children - Day 22

Praise and Thanksgiving

 And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in His tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the L-RD. (Psalm 27:6)

Rejoice always.
Pray without ceasing.
 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of G-d in Yeshua concerning you.
 Quench not the Spirit. (I Thessalonians 5:16-18)

 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and G-dhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew G-d, they did not glorify Him as G-d, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.  Professing to be wise, they became fools.  (Romans 1:20 -22)

Father, I pray for my children to know the power of praise and of giving thanks to You.  I remember how my grandmother constantly said, "Praise the L-rd!".  I remember my Jamaican friend Carmita who spent a long time praising and thanking You before we prayed together.  Carmita taught me to say, "I thank You, G-d, that I can see, and hear, and walk, and talk, and think, and that I have strength to praise You!  I learned from both of these prayer warriors how important gratitude and praise are.

You want us to bring the sacrifice of praise.  That is sometimes very difficult  when we are going through hard times, but I pray for my children to know how much it invigorates our spirits to do this.  Praising and thanking You in times of trouble takes the focus off ourselves and onto You.  Praise lifts us and causes the evil one to flee.

Father, I pray for my children to be thankful to their spouses, children, families, friends, neighbors and co-workers.  May they not take for granted the things others do for them.  The words "thank you" are so sweet and gracious, and everyone likes to hear them.

Thank you, Father, for teaching me that a lack of thankfulness is a sin.  I only learned this within the last few years.  Thank you for showing me the verses in Your Word that say, "and they were not thankful."  Father, you deserve all praise and honor and glory forever.
