This week our assignment is to use the picture on the blog button on the left in a creative way. I made a decorated basket, which I will show you further down in the post. But, first I wrote a poem:
Committed, all...
to follow Thee Creative Call.
I believe creativity is a God-given gift. He is the great Creator, after all. For many years, I have studied Proverbs, and I found this very interesting verse:
Proverbs 8:12 (King James Version)
I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
To me, "witty inventions" speaks of creativity. I've also heard it said that if we do not follow our creative call, God will find someone who is willing. How many times have you thought of doing something, and found out later that someone else had done it?
Okay, here's my creation(drum-roll please!):
(I wanted to use sepia tones for the photo, but couldn't figure out how to do it. If you know, please tell me in comments.)
And, another part of the assignment...
Here's a pic of me with my creation.
I'm glad Karen is encouraging us to band together as sisters to be creative and to support each other's creativity.
I also want to recommend a great book titled "The Creative Call" by my friend Janice Elsheimer. You will love it, Sisters!
Shalom Ya'll!
Hey Fellow Sister!!! Nice job with the basket!!
ReplyDeleteHello! I figured that the ladies near the bottom of the blog roll list may not have gotten as many visits yet as the ones at the top...so I'm going to work from the bottom up!
ReplyDeleteVery cute basket! I look forward to all the sisterhood fun that is ahead of us!
Ohhh very very nice ! I decided to start at the bottom of the list and am happy I did. Nice to meet you...

Hi Sister...I see in more ways that one. I'm Gail, a Christian, and love to decorate. I really would love to get that book because I do alot of decorating for church activities as well as other events. I loved your basket with the ribbon running through it. and the flowers. Nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to mention that I use Picasa for cropping and you can make pictures in sepia tone. It is free and fun to use because it is user friendly with blogger. If you have any question, contact me.
ReplyDeleteOh, your creation is beautiful!!! And I'm so happy to meet my new sorority sister! I hope you'll come visit...
ReplyDeleteI have 2 drawings...You're welcome to enter them!

Gail,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting my blog...and I guess I should be saying "Shabbat Shalom"--I'm not sure if you are Shomer Shabbas...What's my story? I was raised Christian, converted to Judaism...Later became Orthodox and kept a glatt kosher kitchen...Then, I was told that my conversion (being that it was reform--after 20 years--didn't count) I returned to church and got re-baptized...How's that for a spiritual drama? I thought you'd love it...
Hugs from me,
Cindy

I love the basket! You've always been super creative so it doesn't surprise me that I love it. Depending on what program you are using to edit your photos depends on how to make it sepia. Let me know what program you are using and we can try to figure it out. Love You!
