The Family
Suggested Scriptural references ...
You shall love the L-rd your G-d with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the great and first commandment.  And a second is like it:  You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.  Matthew 22:37-40

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity.  Psalm 133:1

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the L-rd.  Husbands love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.  Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the L-rd.  Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.  Colossians 3:18-21

Assemble the people, men women, and little ones, and the sojourner within your towns, that they may hear and learn to fear the L-rd your G-d, and be careful to do all the words of this law, and that their children who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the L-rd your G-d.. Deuteronomy 31:12-13

Suggested prayers ...
We pray for Your hand of healing and restoration of family and families in America, including my own.

Thank You for designing a wonderful plan for family.

We pray for the dignity and sanctity of the home.

We ask You to guide and lead the rebuilding of the family in America.

We ask for the family and the home to regain preeminence as the bedrock of our culture and our country.

Show us, L-rd, how to restore Your desires for the home as a place of security and stability.

L-rd, we pray for America’s mothers and fathers to live honorably, and for children to honor their fathers and mothers.  Help us to honor and care for our elderly.

Lead us to cherish and protect marital fidelity, preserving the foundation of families and the nation.

Protect our children, L-rd, from the sins of their parents.  Return the hearts of mothers and fathers to our children. Turn our hearts to our families in this nation.

We ask You, L-rd, to show us how to break the chains of the sins of the generations that have been visited upon us.  We plead with You, L-rd, to heal and restore our marriages and families.

Help me, L-rd, to influence my family by speaking Your Truth and Your love into their daily lives.

Bind our families together with Your unfailing love.

We ask You to protect our families from government intrusion.

For our own families, we pray, L-rd, asking You to draw each one to Your Spirit, Your heart, Your mind, and Your purposes and plans for our lives.  Knowing that Yours is a good plan for a future and a hope,we pray for each one to know the security, the stability, the strength, the comfort and the joy of living in genuine relationship with You in this life as well as the next.

  3. I love that children were included in your beautiful prayer. In a week that many were shot with no consideration for the young grieved my heart. Oh that America would turn back to God.
