For 40 Days (September 28 - November 6) up to the general election, I will be posting prayers for our country.  These prayers are from the prayer initiative 40 Days to Save America.

Day 2

Almighty G-d, Master of all...we bow down before You with a broken heart. We have let Your good instruction slip from our lips. We have allowed Your words to be closed in public. We have chosen entertainment and lies over truth. Forgive Your people. We are but weak flesh in need of Your guidance to direct our paths. Let us not be given over to the destroyer of our Judeo-Christian foundations and of our beautiful nation once blessed by You. Free us from his grip of deception and lies. Cause Your people to want to know You and desire righteousness. To You alone, we pray for Your ear to incline toward us and heal our land. Amen

We ask that You turn their hearts towards You, L-rd. We ask that You soften their hearts, L-rd, to recognize and receive truth. L-rd, we ask that you grant them the understanding and knowledge that come from the fear of You. We ask that you grant them wisdom and discernment, L-rd, and that you make them bold to do what is right in Your sight. L-rd, we ask that you direct their hearts to do Your will. Amen.
