Beautiful Garden (Part 1 of 4)

I'm BACK!  We had a wonderful vacation to the Gulf Coast aka the Redneck Riviera.  We saw the sights in Pensacola, Florida, Fairhope, Dauphin, and Mobile, Alabama and had a restful, fabulous time.

My favorite part of our vacation was a visit to the Bellingrath House and Gardens.  This estate outside of Mobile was the home of Mr. & Mrs. Walter Bellingrath.  He introduced Coca Cola to the folks of Alabama, and made a fortune as the sole distributor.  The 65 acre gardens were opened to the public in 1932, and after the couples' deaths, the home was opened for tours.

The gardens are planted with new flowering plants with each new season.  Since our visit was in early September, we were blessed to see the summer blooms.  I thought you, dear readers, would enjoy a tour of the house and gardens, and I hope you enjoy your visit, compliments of Gail-Friends.
The first garden we visit is the rose garden.
In the green-house - bananas!

Hibiscus - we have these in our yard here in Florida.
This is an artesian well.

Can you imagine mowing this lawn?
