Greetings, Gail-Friends!I'm getting ready for the Sabbath. How about you?
No, I'm not baking challah. We have a wonderful synagogue member who bakes it for us each week, and it is soooo good. Part of my preparation is listening to music for our service each Friday night. We mostly use Messianic Jewish artists for the worship and dancing and I love sharing those with my blog visitors.
My music tastes are quite eclectic, though, and one of my favorites genres is country. This is a hymn I grew up singing in the Baptist church. I remember, as a nine year old, not understanding the concept of Jesus as a friend. That changed as I grew older and I learned to draw near to Him in times of trouble. He has proved to be my dearest friend, and so much more.
I pray this song blesses you today, and if you don't know Him as a friend, just ask him to reveal that aspect of Himself to you. He will.
