no, it's not a Samurai sword |
They say laughter is good medicine, right? Well, on hubby's birthday, we laughed hard and long, and the medicine was sweet.
Not happy that he had to stop eating for the picture. |
Jem got the You Are Special Today plate that always comes out on birthdays.
And he enjoyed his favorite meal -- chicken tortellini alfredo with peas and broccoli. Jonathan loves it, too. Yes, my grandson can come to the table without a shirt. This is GiGi's chance to spoil him, and I take advantage of it. (Big smile) Besides, the first thing he does when he comes over is take off his shoes, then his socks, and then his shirt. I do draw the line at the shorts, though.
He helped PawPaw blow out the candles.
And then, the cake was cut. It's his favorite -- German chocolate, with vanilla ice cream. This was his at-home cake. He was a blessed man to have not one, but two, birthday cakes. The cake below was his cake for the synagogue birthday party.
After dinner, we retired to the living room to recover from the sugar overload. Well, they had to recover. I don't eat sugar, so I was good.
and here's mine:
My old picture looked the same as my present face, so I guess they couldn't add any more wrinkles. How about those new teeth they gave me? And how do I look as a man with a mustache? (That's why I keep it waxed!) Ahhh...we laughed so hard.
And then, PawPaw decided it was time for him to teach Jon the Hawaiian dance, this accompanied by his rendition of a Hawaiian song. Enjoy and have a good laugh!
I'm so thankful for my husband who makes me laugh every day, my daughter and son-in-love who are crazy funny, and my grandson, who has a hilarious, very dry sense of humor. Every week he brings us jokes, dissertations, and quips that keep us laughing.
What are you thankful for this week, Gail-Friends?
Thankful Thursday is my day to focus on and be thankful for all of the good things in my life.
