Father, we pray for the people who will be in the path of Hurricane Sandy. I pray you will help them in their preparations. I pray you will protect them from harm and destruction of body and property.
Father, I pray for the first responders who will help in the aftermath. Protect them, and comfort the families they leave behind as they go out to assist others. I pray for neighbors to help neighbors and pull together for their communities during this stressful time.
Give them awareness of your presence, even in times like these. I pray they will be comforted by the Psalm that you gave me when I went through four back-to-back hurricanes in 2004.
Psalm 91
He who
dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the L-rd, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My G-d, in Him I will trust.”
