Greetings and Good Shabbos, dear Gail-Friends!
This week, I've been meditating on this Scripture:
"Light is sown for the righteous
and joy for the upright in heart."
and joy for the upright in heart."
(Psalm 97:11)
It brings to mind a beautiful picture of a sower in a field, scattering seeds. The seeds are light and seeds of joy. These are the harvest of those who are righteous and upright in heart. What a delightful meditation. I can testify that those things are great and over-flowing blessings in my life.
Growing up, I was taught that keeping G-d's commandments was not necessary. They actually taught that trying to be righteous was like filthy rags. This is a misunderstanding of Scripture. When the words were spoken, they meant to invent one's own way of being righteous, rather than obeying His commandments. G-d does indeed expect us to obey Him and live righteous lives. Yeshua said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." That's where the blessings of light and joy come from.
One of His commandments that brings blessings of light and joy is that of observing His Sabbath. I pray you will find that light and joy promised in Psalm 97.
This week's music is a playlist of songs for the Sabbath, titled Shabbat Shalom. It begins with the blowing of the shofar, which is what we do at the beginning of our Shabbat service. The shofar blast is a call to worship ADONAI. I hope you enjoy these songs. . . and I hope you dance!

Beautiful music, it definitely makes you want to dance! I had a couple of CDs (correction, most likely audio tapes, revealing my age :-) ) of Messianic worship music years ago. You've inspired me to find some more. Blessings and happy 4th of July!
